Short biography of drs. ir. J.G. Blaazer
Koos Blaazer is the founder of LNGEurope bv, LNGSupply bv, AB-BioMass bv and Aeolus Investments nv. He has extensive experience in large scale manufacturing, energy and investments. Koos earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering at the Delft University of Technology (TUDelft) and a MBA at the Rotterdam School of Management.
His first professional activity was plant manager and principal engineer at Forbo Floor Covering Linoleum Manufacturers. Next was the appointment as deputy managing director of a gas grid utility. During this period Koos was one of the initiators of the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) for mobility in the Netherlands, he developed an investment company for co-generation, and built, commissioned and exploited a large-scale district heating system (in straight competition with gas supply).
In 2008, as private investor, Koos founded LNGEurope bv the first small scale liquid natural gas (LNG)-distribution company in Northwest Europe. LNGEurope invested in, built and operated small scale LNG facilities. LNGEurope supplied liquefied methane as a fuel for medium and large combustion engines. Our first LNG facility, located in Oss, has been operating since 2010, serving customers 24/7 without major breakdown or refurbishment. Since Q4 2011, LNGEurope operates facilities in Amsterdam and Rotterdam Area. LNGEurope owns and operates LNG road tankers and other transport equipment.

LNG truck-to-ship bunkering
Since 2012, LNGEurope has been performing various LNG bunker operations in Rotterdam and Antwerp for inland navigation. In early 2014, LNGEurope was the first to bunker a seagoing vessel in the Antwerp-Rotterdam-Amsterdam region (see press release LNGEurope supplies LNG to the world’s first LNG-powered tug). In May 2014 LNGEurope performed the first LNG bunker operation at Rome Cruise Terminal. Major customers are Vos Logistics, Supermarket chain Albert Heijn and Carnival Plc/AIDA Cruises (for the AIDAPrima). In May 2013, Koos sold LNGEurope to ENN Energy Holding HK 2688 and stayed on as General Manager until 2016.
In early 2016, Koos, and Markku Vedder founded LNGSupply bv (the Hague), a company focused on the supply of LNG as bunker- and industrial fuel (see press release).
